Tori Soba Mutahiro No.2
鶏そば ムタヒロ 2号店
The chicken-soba shop of the Mutahiro group, a short walk from Kokubunji Station's north exit, serving a golden chicken broth with chicken oil in soy-sauce and salt versions, plus a dipping-style tsuke soba.
The shop
Tori Soba Mutahiro No.2 opened on September 22, 2012 (Tabelog) as the second shop of the Mutahiro group, run by Great Smile Co. It took over chicken soba from the No.1 shop, which then became a niboshi specialist. The shop states it has been selected for Tabelog's Ramen Hyakumeiten (top 100) list four years in a row.
The bowl
The shop describes its tori soba as a golden-colored chicken soup finished with chicken oil (chiyu). It comes in soy sauce (shoyu soba) or salt (shio soba), each plain, with a seasoned egg, or as the fully topped tokusei. The same soup is offered as tsuke soba for dipping, and the shop also mentions abura soba and tantanmen.
How to order
Start with the shoyu soba or the shio soba; choose the ajitama or tokusei version for more toppings, or try the tsuke soba. The menu on Tabelog dates from 2023, so check current prices at the shop.
