The shop

Kyoka opened on 29 June 2000. Its owner, Keiichi Machida, became known for a dramatic noodle-draining style called 'Kegon no Taki', named after the waterfall. In 2020 he also took over Niboshi Iwashi Ramen En in Hachioji. The shop's message names three principles: justice, affection and reassurance, the last meaning it aims to keep its quality as customers expect.

The bowl

The soup is layered from chicken, pork and seafood. The soy tare is a blend of six aged soy sauces. The wonton-topped version comes with large, smooth wontons. A chicken paitan, a white and frothy chicken soup, is also on the menu.

How to order

The flagship bowl is the 'Kiwami' shoyu ramen. A 2024 feature listed the Kiwami shoyu ramen with wonton at ¥1,500 and the Kiwami tori paitan ramen at ¥1,300. On map listings the version with a marinated egg (ajitama) is shown as popular. Tsukemen is on the menu too.
